Project "Stork Suite" is a series of 5 short films which reflect on the history of Hengelo, a town right next to Enschede. A team of up to 15 students of all fields of media production from Saxion University took the challenge. I was responsible for 3D pre-visualisations of two of the short movies, corresponding to storyboards of fellow student Raphael Oettel.
Later in the process of production, the two directors asked me to create a machine that was meant to take a big role in the storyline. It was meant as a link to Hengelo's "Stork B.V.", one of the companies responsible for prosperity and growth of the city of Hengelo.
The idea: An old man builds the city as a small model. Things added to the model appear in the real world as well. The machine was meant to be under the model, as the heart, the driving force of Hengelo.
Although the project was pretty far in production, the time necessary for the whole project was incompatible with further plans of studying to some of the students. Unfortunately, the production was cancelled after one and a half years of pre-production.
